If you examine the Gospels, a few things become immediately apparent. The first is that Jesus never once even used the word "antichrist". Instead, Jesus warns of many false christs and false prophets arising to deceive any and all they can, not a singular individual who arrives on the scene peacefully and prosperously or otherwise. I submit for your consideration that the "Antichrist" singular, is an invention of Paul and the early church that reveres him as a saint, not a prediction of anything Jesus ever preached. The proof lies in the fact that Jesus says in Mark 13: 23 "Take heed, see, have told you all things beforehand." He didn't say the prophets, or the Old Testament, the disciples, or even Saul/Paul who claims In fact, Jesus warned us that false teachers would come in His name, specifically to deceive, and even bearing the message, "Look He's in the desert", yet the teachings of Saul/Paul are what are held as doctrine by many who call themselves Christians. In fact, not only was Saul/Paul, not a disciple of Jesus, nor did he teach any of Jesus' doctrine, but he also persecuted the disciples, even to their deaths. |
