FOUR STARS OF FILTH
THE STEWART HOTEL MADISON SQUARE GARDEN
Four Stars of Filth!

The BEST thing about this trip was Jet Blu, now, my favorite airline for overall experience.

The GREAT thing about the hotel was the bell hop, security staff in general, and the housekeeping staff specifically.

The GOOD thing about this booking was the hotel location feet away from Madison Square Garden!

The NOT-SO-GOOD thing was the fact that I paid extra for a kitchenette, idk that included exactly 00 pots, pans, forks, spoons, or plates; I didn’t happen to pack any...

“Christina! Christopher! Dammmmmit!”

The BAD thing about the the whole thing is that overall my experience was pleasant, and I don’t want this review to negatively effect any of the folks I’ve mentioned heretofore; though i can see how it may and for that I apologize.

Because the WORST things about the stay are down right awful, unfortunately. The first being, my first night of sleep there was interrupted with repeated sounds of screams in the building of what sounded like a woman yelling, and I quote, “Help! Rape!” At least three times that I heard and reported to the front desk.

I don’t know what the outcome was beyond that, but I was above the 10th floor and the sounds seemed to be emanating from within the halls. I wrote it off as, domestic violence and violence can happen just about anywhere, and tried to get back to sleep. The next day I could hear what sounded like the same woman’s voice in the hall and at one of the doors.

The other down right foul and disgusting thing about the hotel was revealed when the morning light burst into the room.   I wasn’t quite ready to get out of bed so I pulled the plush white comforter over my head to sleep in just a little longer when I discovered, to my horror, that the hotel apparently doesn’t use bleach if/when they wash them because each corner of the quilting of mine were a collection of fungi, mold, dead skin, and God only knows what else!

I showered. When I checked out I couldn’t risk going off and being labeled an “angry black woman”, “a dangerous black male”, or a “Krazed Karen Klowning”, since I’m none of those things so I told Mark the manager, who politely apologized and refunded the resort fee but NOT the entire stay SMH.

Had I been a Karen I probably would have gotten a lot more with the complexion for protection they flex, the unspoken bias they perpetuate, teach their kids, and benefit from, but also I would have got the satisfaction of taking the comforter to the lobby for all those checking-in to see and consider before they do; consider they are paying to sleep in filth!

I couldn’t risk a knee to the neck by causing a scene so I took pix and I’m sharing my experience with you.

Peace Stewart.
