As believers when we look to the truth, if you are calling yourself Christian then in all things, what Jesus has to say on a subject should be the last word for you as far as faith goes. The authorship of Revelation is uncertain, and in this chapter, there are no red letter quotes of Christ, so take the message it carries with a grain of salt. If the Bible and its prophecies are to be believed, then those said prophecies should stand up not only to scrutiny but to time itself, since by definition they apply to events yet to happen, otherwise there's no evidence of them being real and thereby affirm our faith. With COVID 19 in the news, coincidentally, or perhaps prophetically, when the first seal of Revelation is broken, the rider is given a bow, as in a bow & arrow (a weapon), and a crown which just happens to be the English translation of the word "corona". Could the Corona Virus be the next plague on humanity?? Consider the facts. It is spreading exponentially, the death rate is expected to be 10 times as deadly as the seasonal flu, which would give it a mortality rate of just under 1%; which in America alone would be about 3 million people. It is possible the First Seal has just been opened. Look to Italy and see nearly 1000 die in one day. Look to America and see the rats gathering in New Orleans in broad daylight (which are notorious for carrying the plague) but whether it is the end, another mass exstinction, or the beginning of a new normal, look to Christ and repent. |
In the small, picturesque town of Albany, Georgia, USA there is what represents a mere 1% of the total known deaths from Corona Virus in the United States. My brother in law contracted the disease performing funerals at the church, he and my sister were pastors of. Within a week, he was hospitilized, and a week later he passed away. My sister has also tested positive, as well as a cluster of at least 4 others who attended funerals that day.
Realize, that if a tiny town that's much like the fictional town of Mayberrry represents a full 1% of the 600 known deaths in the US, then realize that we are likely just seeing the tip of the iceberg of this pandemic. Without mass testing, those who are asymptomatic will only continue to infect others, presumably unknowingly.
The president has an opportujnity to be a hero, keep his campaign promise and provide better, cheaper healthcare for all (which he never did), by compelling Republican states to expand Medicaid to all. Instead, the president keeps providing a steady stream of misinformation Meantime, the vice president knods at the lies, like a braindead bobblehead, with a phony look of piety on his face the whole time. It's, no surprise since he advances the foolish notion that you can pray the gay away. Which I know FOR A FACT is something the president doesn't believe; to his credit. Judge with righteous judgment.
Democrats have the opportunity to support a candidtate who backs Medicare for all, Bernie Sanders, but instead they are propelling someone who has repeatedly tried to strip social safety nets, Joe Biden. If people don't wake up and start judging righteously it may soon be too late for countless millions.
Either way, unless and until a universal healthcare system (like other countries who have managed to wrangle this disease have in place) is enacted in the US, then the number of deaths will almost certainly continue to rise. Unless a purge of the poor & and infection of the willfully ignorant as well as the massacre of unfortunate innocents is the point. |
